OK - I’m interested to see how you do with your pages etc. You said terms “easy to rank for”
I don’t know a thing about CPA but I have run an SEO service for 11 years and a very quick analysis of the terms that were displayed under *acai berry* did not look like any of them would be real easy to get first page rankings for.
I hope you do as I want to learn; not be contentious but I’m scratching my head at the moment

Gary,
I’m not real sure about the keywords that we looked at today, but one thing that I do know is this….
Those keywords that surround the “product names” etc…are mostly taken up by marketers just like you and I who are not doing a thing except for throwing up a quick blog and leaving it alone…
Sure, some of them might throw a couple of backlinks at it, but a majority of the time — it’s a little bit of content on a keyword rich domain and then are done
What one should be doing is taking those phrases and using them as a foundation to target other phrases…
They are a great “insight” to how the product is performing as far as consumer interest.
I would not however suggest just grabbing the words you see in Google Insights…
Those should be used as a base to dig deeper using the Google external tool, wordtracker, SEObook, etc…
I actually use semrush but it isn’t as great for this type of thing because the data is often a couple months behind…
Insights is great for knowing you picked a target product that is on teh rise in search volume. However you are right…you will need to dig deeper and we will go into that as well in later videos.
Thanks to both of you for responses. That makes sense and I do have, I think, almost every keyword tool and SEO tool on the market as I am not really just a “marketer” but do SEO for 118 clients including a few very large NYSE firms.
Of course, the issue is that the “longer tail” keywords get much less search volume leading to fewer transactions.
I am almost 70 years old and ready to stop working 12 hour days with clients and want to find a way to use my skills to bring in some more passive income and I really appreciate the opportunity to study under both of you
Thanks,
Gary Fritts

Right the deal with longtail is less traffic higher conversion…
I think a lot of people don’t realize that often less traffic is better traffic. Meaning that I would much rather have 40 visits and make 3 conversions then 1000 visits and make none…
So that is definitely where longtail comes into play…
That sounds awesome the keyword work you do…so I am definitely sure you have some knowledge stored up to. I mean we do things our way…but it doesn’t always mean it is the best way. There is always a better way out there so if you have any input by all means feel free to let some ideas out fi you want. SEO is kind of fun in some ways and frustrating in others hehe.
1) Are you usually allowed to make your own banner ads for CPA offers or must you use the banners they provide? (I think in many cases I could produce better converting ads.)
2) Are article and YouTube marketing usually allowed? I noticed in the acai berry description that it said “This offer is only open to email and search traffic.”
Thanks,
Johnny

Johnny,
As far as the first one — ask your account manager But, I think you would probably be OK to make your own. However, some networks work differently than others.
As for the second one — Articles and videos would be found in the “search engines” so, You should be good to go there
Hi Jeremy and Don
Was just wondering how many searches a day or on some of these breakouts on the google insights? I know you cant find how many on many tools, but would they be worth putting up a site for them. I can understand trying them for ezine articles but not knowing the traffic approx. is a bit of a gamble for a site if its low traffic. Never used google insights before so excuse my ignorance.
Thanks

Jeremy Reply: March 16th, 2009 at 11:08 pm
There really is no way of knowing how many searches — but, when they are listed as “breakout” you can bet that it is a substantial amount in most cases…
However, you could test with an article or even with some PPC just to see how many hits you got.
Btw, I spent the whole day browsing through the offers and I’m really frustrated.
I checked out Maxbounty and Copeac and Clickbooth.
I’m looking email/zip submits. But I don’t know how to go about with these offers cuz they are mostly like restaurant vouchers, pepsi surveys, xbox, printvista etc.. I mean do I set up a website just for these ? What kind of site can I set up ?
Also, I’m having such a difficult time with the requirements. They don’t specify what is required in order to be considered a lead/sale. And getting the affiliate links is another headache. Maybe it’s just the networks…
Jeremy, can you cover something we can do to get started quickly with email submits?
I have gone ahead and made some squidoo lenses. But I am unsure about making landing pages for ppc. Should they just be 1 page sales letters? Or can I drive traffic to squidoo? This is my problem area at the moment:
When making landing pages for ppc
1) What software is best? xsite pro, wordpress, lpgen, squidoo (I have them all)
2) How much info is really required? 1 page, 5 pages, about me, contact us etc
3) How do you convert the traffic with this landing page? Is it just a casual review, a long sales page, a full website etc
4) For CPA do I need a landing page at all? Can I use Iframes or double meta refresh and just direct link?
What’s the significance of epc? if the epc is $1.00 and the offer pays $30, then that means the offer converts 1 out of 30 clicks? If the offer converted 1 in 20 clicks then the epc would be $1.50? Thanks, Chris.
As usual with these kind of workshops/bootcamps everybody charges off at a tangent and have their own ideas that totally confuse people new to this.
Frankly I’m not interested in what anyones ideas are except for the guys running the show.
So the one question I have is what do the numbers relate too in google insights if they are not actual searches?
Jeremy Reply: March 17th, 2009 at 10:50 am
Alashton,
The data that you can get from google insights is more of a “pre look” for the lack of a better term.
The information that you are seeing there now will in most cases be the hot keywords that the keyword tools will show in 30 - 60 days when they catch up
So to start with I just pick an offer I want to promote from Azoogle, find the keywords I want to use.
Then write an article for Ezinearticles based around my keywords.
Then put the url of the landing page including the affiliate id in the source box.
It means you can’t give a bonus/payment/etc. in order to entice people to complete the offer. You can direct them to it, but not give them anything to do it.
Jeremy Reply: April 18th, 2009 at 5:45 pm
Didn’t see that you already answered this for me THANKS!
The Market Leverage offers show payout, expiration…etc., and then there is something called “Current Suppression File” and it’s a download. What is this?
The question in the above post about what is a “Current Suppression File” was answered by Jeremy via email, so I’ll post the answer here in case anyone else is new and wondering what it is.
Jeremy’s answer:
“The supression file is a reference to a list of email addresses that you can not mail to if you are going to use email marketing.”
Can I use Squidoo as my money page if I’m promoting teeth whitening? I’m just asking because I was promoting weight loss pills and my lenses got locked so I switched to blogger, but I’d just like to know if my lenses will get locked for promoting other cpa offers. Or am I just doing something wrong?

Sometimes it will get hung up if you try to view more than once…clearing your cache usually does the trick.

Regarding choosing an offer, how much importance should we pay to the EPC mentioned by the CPA company.
I beleive that one should choose offers with high EPC. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance,

Hello everyone,
Just a heads up about Squidoo as they were mentioned in the video.
I was on the warrior forum this morning and there was some talk about Squidoo’s new spam rules.
No lenses on diet pills, Acai Berry, Ringtones etc, etc.

Hope this helps
